Centre reviews flood situation

NEW DELHI/PATNA, Aug. 9: Union Cabinet today reviewed the flood situation in the country which has so far claimed 1500 lives in over 20 states. Assuring states of all possible relief, the Cabinet took note of the assistance that had been rendered to people displaced from their homes.
The information and broadcasting minister, Mr PR Dasmunsi, said the Cabinet was briefed on the situation through a detailed presentation by the home ministry. The Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh, presided over the meeting.
