Mississippi River Commission visits Lake Sakakawea to evaluate water situation

GARRISON — The Mississippi River Commission, which was established in 1879 to oversee the operation of the entire Mississippi River drainage, made its first-ever appearance in North Dakota Monday afternoon at Fort Stevenson State Park. The seven-member commission consists of three current generals, an admiral and civilian members from Arkansas, Missouri and Louisiana. The president of the commission, Gen.
