U.S. willing to offer flood aid to DPRK

WASHINGTON, Aug. 14 (Xinhua) -- The United States is considering to provide assistance to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea to help the country cope with flood disasters, the State Department said Tuesday.

"If there is a humanitarian need we would take a look to see if we could help out in some way," State Department spokesman Sean McCormack said, noting that any aid would be channeled through the United Nations.
