Navy deploys 5 more divers team in flood-hit Orissa



New Delhi, Sept 23 (PTI) Following a request from the Orissa government, the Indian Navy has sent five teams of specialist divers to carry out rescue and relief operations in the areas affected due to flooding of the Mahanadi river.
"Five comprehensive diving teams with all technical support elements from the Eastern Naval Command (ENC) in Visakhapatnam have been pressed into action for rescue and relief operations," a Navy spokesperson said here today.

The diving teams along with inflatable rubberised boats with outboard motors, rescue equipment and medical supplies left for Bhubaneswar yesterday.
