New group meant to protect river

On Sunday, the Yadkin River will finally be able to talk.

Well, not literally, but through a new group that will focus on keeping the river clean and educating people on how to do that. Over the past several months, Clean Water for North Carolina has sponsored informational meetings up and down the Yadkin River basin to help facilitate recruitment of residents in the basin to join the as-yet-unnamed group and speak "as a voice for the river," CWFNC Executive Director Hope Taylor said.
