BJP alleges irregularities in flood relief work

Lucknow, Aug. 15 (PTI): Alleging large scale irregularities in relief operations in the flood affected districts of Uttar Pradesh, the Bharatiya Janata Party on Tuesday demanded high level probe into the matter.

In a memorandum submitted to state Governor T V Rajeswar here, the BJP also demanded a monetary assistence of Rs two thousand to each of the affected families besides waiver of revenue and other government dues.

Speaking to reporters after meeting the governor, BJP Legislature Party leader Om Prakash Singh alleged that large scale irregularities had taken place in distribution of relief materials in the flood-affected areas.
