Flood situation remains grim

JAJPUR, Aug 22: The north Balasore floods have affected more than 9 lakh people living across 1172 villages in Bhograi, Baliapal, Basta, Jaleswar and Sadar areas. District authorities said relief material for three days have been dispatched to the affected panchayats.
In Bhograi , Baliapal, Jaleswar and Basta blocks a majority of the gram panchayats were marooned .
While three causalities have been reported so far from Bhograi block , the loss of livestock and other damage were yet to be ascertained, said official sources.
