Subarnarekha, Baitarani above red mark

BALASORE: Subarnarekha river, which was flowing at 10.83 metre against the danger level of 10.36 metre at Rajghat is expected to cross 11.5 metre mark by Tuesday. River Jalaka was flowing at 6.72 metres against the red mark of 5.5 metre at NH-60 and rising. Budhabalanga was also rising but was still below the danger level.

Flood waters have inundated hundreds of villages in all north Balasore blocks, said Emergency Officer Bhagaban Behera. Only the BDOs of Bhograi and Sadar blocks have submitted reports on the situation. While 2.54 lakh people in 354 villages under 32 GPs of Bhograi have been affected the figure in 142 villages under 15 GPs of Sadar block stood at 1.12 lakh , Behera added.
