CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Starting today, everyone in Mecklenburg County is under mandatory water restrictions.Charlotte utility officials along with Duke Energy made the announcement Monday afternoon. Maeneen Klein with the city's utility department told city council Monday night, "It's time to get serious and its time to comply."Klein also said they're calling for a 10 percent reduction in the amount of average daily water use. She said, "It's pretty aggressive. But we feel confident that our customers will join us in this effort and will help us be successful in this."
