Lucknow, Aug. 19 (PTI): The flood situation in the eastern region of the state worsened with water level in major rivers rising further, officials said here.
Meanwhile, two more rain related deaths were reported since yesterday, taking the toll this season to 185 in the state, they said.
The two deaths were reported from Basti, they said.
While Ganga was rising at Mirzapur, Varanasi and Ghazipur districts, river Ghagra was rising in Elgin bridge and Ayodhya while Rapti's level was increasing in Balrampur and other areas, reports said.
The maximum rainfall of 74.6 mm was recorded at Kalpi while Fatehgarh had 55.2 mm rainfall, they said.
