Major rivers in spate
Tuesday August 14 2007 13:09 IST BHUBANESWAR: Major rivers were in spate following heavy rains in their catchment areas during the past couple of days, disrupting communication and paralysing normal life in many districts.

As per the latest report reaching here on Monday, the Baitarani, Subarnarekha, Devi, Kusabhadra, Brahmani, Budhabalanga and Bansadhara were rising and submerged many areas in Rayagada, Mayurbhanja, Balasore, Jajpur and Kalahandi districts.

While the Baitarani and Subarnarekha were flowing above their danger levels, the Devi, Kushabhadra, Brahmani, Budhabalanga and Bansadhara were flowing just below their danger mark.
