NKorea thanks US for flood aid

SEOUL, South Korea: North Korea thanked the United States and other countries Wednesday for providing the flood-ravaged communist nation with emergency relief aid in a rare public message of gratitude for outside assistance.

The North's Foreign Ministry said the country received "with sincerity" medicines and other emergency aid from the United Nations and many countries including China and the U.S., according to the country's official Korean Central News Agency.

North Korea "feels thankful for this aid," the North's ministry said, according to KCNA.
