Floods will not lead to higher premiums

The Government has received assurances from the insurance industry that businesses will not face significant hikes in premiums as a result of the recent floods.
John Hutton, the Secretary of State for Business and Enterprise, said that the chairman of Royal & SunAlliance, John Napier, as well as representatives from the Association of British Insurers (ABI), had indicated that premiums would not rise.
