Baitarani flowing above red mark

BHADRAK: Fresh floods have been reported in Dhamnagar block of Bhadrak.


Due to breaches in the embankment of the river Baitarani, flood waters submerged thousands of hectares of paddy fields and inundated 60 villages in Dhamnagar.

District Emergency Officer (DEO) Suryakanti Padhi said that the water level in the Baitarani is presently above the danger level and is rising further. At Akhuapada, water level of the river was at 19.27 metre against the danger mark of 17.83 metre.
