Heavy rains bring cheer for Orissa farmers

KalingaTimes Correspondent Bhubaneswar: Just a day after Orissa government took note of the problems facing the farmers in as many as 25 districts due to scanty rainfall during the past few weeks, heavy rains lashed most parts of Orissa on Sunday. The rains, however, badly affected normal life in the urban centres, including the Capital city of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.
In fact, it started raining heavily in the coastal districts since Saturday night under the influence of a low pressure over the northwest Bay of Bengal which had since concentrated into a deep depression. Full Story
