Floods disrupt road communication in Orissa

Berhampur, Aug. 7 (PTI): Floods in Rushikulya river in south Orissa have disrupted road communication at two places while three reservoirs in Ganjam district were overflowing this morning following heavy rains in the area.

Flood waters have over topped the Bhubaneswar- Bhanjanagar road at Nuagam disrupting traffic. National Highway-217 at Khadabhaga has also been inundated, disrupting road communication between Aska and Berhampur, offical sources said.

Both Rushikulya and Vansadhara rivers were flowing above the danger mark.While the Rushikulya was flowing at 35.33 metres against the red mark of 34.75 metres at Aska, the water level was 17.45 metres against the danger level of 16.83 metres.
